Boer Meat Goats originated in South Africa and were first brought to the United States in the 1990's. The word Boer translates to English as "farmer", so their name means "farmer's goat". Boer goats are primarily bred for meat and are being used very effectively in combination with cattle due to their preference for browse.
Goat Meat is known to be the healthiest of meats. It is low in cholesterol, high in iron and ounce for ounce has less fat than chicken. With a taste that blends chicken with beef, goat is the ideal meat for the health conscious!
Our Boer goats are raised in Central Arizona on the High Chaparral forage out on the range naturally.
